The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Board of Trustees took a step in the right direction for campus security Thursday night with its decisive 10 to 1 vote to allow MCLA police to carry firearms. It was a decision that was not likely arrived at easily, as both students and faculty came out in opposition against the move in December.   Full Story

Saturday February 4, 2012 I know a lot can change in four years, but I highly doubt that both the atmosphere and the student demographic at MCLA have changed enough to warrant Public Safety bearing arms. When I attended MCLA (Class of 2008), it was one of the most low-key places I had ever been to -- provided the Red Sox hadn’t won the World Series and you stayed off of Blackinton   Full Story
