We would like to write a letter of thanks to coaches Joe Charon and John Norman for the tremendous amount of time and effort they put into coaching our son’s Adams Police Athletic League fifth and sixth grade boys’ basketball team.
We always attended the last half hour of each of their practices and cannot say enough wonderful things about the way they coached our boys. Our son, along with one or two other boys on the team, had never played in the league before and had to be taught quite a bit to catch up. Coaches Joe and John showed extreme patience and guidance to this obstacle, along with having to keep the attention of some of the boys that had trouble staying focused. They led our boys to an undefeated season with a 10-0 record. They not only taught them good basketball skills, but also good sportsmanship and teamwork.
They coached with enthusiasm and compassion, and showed patience and understanding, especially to our boys with special needs and medical conditions. We could definitely use more coaches like them in this league.
