NORTH ADAMS

This weekend, the city’s streets will be the site of the marquee event of the 57th Annual Fall Foliage Festival, and the Mohawk Theater will host a unique new addition to the festival that is sure to be remembered. However, both are still in need of community support, and we encourage everyone to pitch in however they can.

First up, Saturday’s "The Spirit of Johnny Cash" tribute concert comes to the Mohawk for a fundraiser benefiting the theater’s restoration fund and the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation. Tribute artist Harold Ford will bring his striking vocal and physical resemblance to the Man in Black to the performance, where he will be joined by Laura Lucy as June Carter Cash. The Cash Band rounds out a concert that will help two missions important to the city and Northern Berkshire. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at www.massmoca.org or by calling the Mass MoCA box office at 413-662-2111.

Then on Sunday, the Fall Foliage Parade returns to downtown, but at last report, the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce still needs $11,060 to reach its $30,000 fundraising goal for the parade. While North County has already shown its generous nature by donating nearly $19,000, we hope that those still deliberating about donating will lend their support to an event that attracts residents from throughout the area.
