On Sept. 14 and 15, the Friends of the North Adams Public Library held it’s annual book sale. This was the third year the sale has been held at St. Elizabeth Parish Center, and it has grown more successful each year. This sale not only raised money for the library, but was a great community event for the citizens of North Adams as well as our neighboring communities. Many people came to take advantage of a wide variety of books for sale, the silent auction and a bake sale offering an assortment of baked goods.

At this time, we would like to thank the city of North Adams, the Office of Tourism, many area businesses, MCLA students and some wonderful volunteers.

We are indebted to all those who donated books, shopped, baked and helped at the sale. A special thanks to our dedicated workers who cleaned, sorted, packed, moved, set up and dismantled the sale. It is a tremendous, yearlong job to coordinate and put this event together.

All of the proceeds will help to improve the library and provide programming for children and adults. If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Library, information is available online or at the library. We are looking forward to seeing all of you next year and hope you’ll consider donating books starting in the spring of 2013.
