Williamstown Town Administrator Peter Fohlin has announced the town's emergency shelter will open at 3 p.m. at the Williamstown Elementary School. Residents, especially those living at the Spruces Mobile Home Park, are encouraged to go to the shelter if they feel unsafe.
The City of North Adams issued a CodeRED alert, encouraging all individuals who live in mobile homes to seek alternate shelter. The city's emergency shelter at the St. Elizabeth's Parish Center, on St. Anthony's Drive, is open.
City offices, the Mary Spitzer Center and the North Adams Public Library closed at noon.
Those who need assistance in North Adams should call 413-664-4933.
The town of Adams opened its emergency shelter at the Adams Visitors Center, also known as the Berkshire Visitors Center, at noon. Residents using the shelter will need to bring their own food, water and supplies. Animals are welcome at the shelter if they are crated and have their own food.
The Special Town Meeting scheduled for tonight, has been postponed until Thursday, Nov. 1 at C.T. Plunkett Elementary School.
Trick-or-treat hours have been moved to Friday, Nov. 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Clarksburg has postponed Trick-or-Treat, which will now be held on Friday, Nov. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m.
BerkshireRides closed its office at noon, but all vans are still running as scheduled.

Williams College closed at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. That means no classes, meetings, or athletics practices. The libraries and athletics facilities will close.
SVSU has cancelled all classes on Tuesday.
