NORTH ADAMS -- The McCann Tech boys' basketball team got a double-double from Josh Superneau en route to the easy victory, 54-16 over Pioneer Valley Christian School.

"Superneau scored our first nine points and there was no looking back, really," said McCann coach Mike Nykorchuk.

Superneau nearly outscored Pioneer Valley Christian, as he had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Shane Fuller added nine for McCann.

PVCS scored just two points in the fourth quarter. The most points they scored in a quarter was five, doing it in both the second and third.

AMHERST -- Williams clinched the Little Three title and exorcised a demon all in the same night.

The 11th-ranked Ephs defeated No. 10 Amherst, 4-2.

The Ephs had entered the season having lost five straight games to the Lord Jeffs and had not beaten Amherst in Amherst since 2007.

Williams (14-6-3, 11-4-2 NESCAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead but Amherst (14-6-3, 10-5-2) stormed back and when Aaron Deutsch scored on the power play at 19:24, a three-goal lead was now a very uncomfortable 3-2 advantage for the Ephs.

Zander Masucci, who took the holding penalty that gave the Lord Jeffs the power play goal, more than made it up for his teammates when he scored an insurance goal at 8:28 of the final period.

Amherst pulled goalie Nathan Corey for the last 1:15 of the game, but the Jeffs could not get on the board.

outshot Williams 37-26, but Sean Dougherty was stellar with 35 saves. Nick Anderson scored two goals for the Ephs.

Williams travels to Hamilton today. If the Ephs win, they could possibly finish second in the league. A loss could potentially send them to fifth.

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Gabrielle Vukasin's power-play goal 39 seconds into overtime put Williams (9-13-1, 5-9-1) back in the win column and ended a six-game winless streak as they topped Conn. College 3-2.

The game was tied at 1 when Aimee Dennett scored for the Ephs at 14:26. Connecticut College (12-10-1, 6-8-1) tied the game on Courtney Dumont's goal at 17:14.

But the Camels picked up a late penalty when Amanda Bogue was whistled for Body Checking at 18:59. That led to Vukasin's game winner.

Chloe Billadeau had an outstanding game for Williams, making 36 saves.
