MONSON -- Overall, it was a good season for the McCann Tech girls under first-year head coach Mike Dowling. The same can't be said for Tuesday night.

The Bi-County League champions were eliminated from the Western Massachusetts Division III tournament, 73-13 by Monson on Tuesday night.

Karyce Welsh led the way for Monson, putting in 22 points.

Emijah Barton led the way for McCann scoring seven points. Eileen Zajac left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury and three other Hornets fouled out. McCann managed just two points in the second half.

"We don't shoot the ball well and we didn't tonight," coach Mike Dowling said. "[Monson] shoots very well and they did tonight."
