North Adams men's softball league

Any teams that are interested in playing in the 2013 season must call Neal Giorgi at 413-652-2067 by March 24. All teams must call by the 24th to determine if there is enough teams to have a season. If no calls or interest the season may not take place. A minimum of eight teams are needed to consider having a season.

Hoosac Valley baseball car wash

The Hoosac Valley baseball team will hold a car wash on Saturday, March 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at McAndrews-King in Adams. Ticket price is $5. All proceeds will directly support the Hoosac Valley baseball program.

DeSanty adds to accolades

North Adams native Taylor DeSanty has been named to the D3hoops.com Women's Basketball All-Region Third Team for the second consecutive season. DeSanty also earned a nod to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) All Region Second Team.

DeSanty, a Drury High School graduate, becomes the program's only player to be honored by D3hoops.com twice.

DeSanty is the sixth Colby-Sawyer player all-time and the first since 2007 to land on a NEWBA All-Region team.

The All-Region nods add to a slew of awards that DeSanty had earned in the past month. She was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year for the second

straight season and NAC All-Conference First Team for the second year in a row. She helped lead the Chargers to the NAC title and was named tournament MVP. DeSanty also earned numerous weekly awards this season, which included four NAC Player of the Week awards and appeared on the NEWBA Honor Roll twice.

DeSanty led the league in scoring with 19.3 points per game in conference play, while ranking among the top-five in field goals (136) and three-pointers made (35). DeSanty exits Colby-Sawyer as the all-time leader in points (1,743), 3-pointers (219) and field goals (649).
