GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Hurricanes used a steady attack in a 12-2 win over upstart Monument Mountain.
Hoosac netted three goals in each the first and second quarter and sealed the game with four in the fourth.
Stephin Wallace led the way with a hat trick and two assists. Mitch Carlow had two goals and three assists. Seven Hurricanes in all tallied goals.
Jack Vickey and Joe LaBrasca scored for the Spartans.
NORTH ADAMS -- Offense was not the problem for the Hornets. They scored 10 runs in just four innings, but it wasn't enough as Westfield Voc. beat them 12-10.
"The loss today was fundamentals, mental mistakes," coach Pat Ryan said. "We just pick it up, go back and get it Thursday."
Westfield, to their credit, hit the ball hard, compiling five doubles and a triple. McCann's lone extra-base hit was a John LeClair double.
The Hornets scored five times in the second to take a 6-3 lead, but gave up five over the next two innings. Their four-run fourth put them back on top, but Westfield put up another crooked number in the sixth to take the lead for good.
"Batting-wise we're fine," Ryan said. "Ten hits isn't a bad day."
Tim DeBlois takes the loss for McCann in 21 3 innings of relief.
