It was a big week for North County girls' lacrosse. The Mounties beat prevously unbeaten Lee and Hoosac snagged its first-ever win. In the other sports, teams began to clinch postseason spots and other teams are starting to fall from the playoff picture.
This week's highlights: The Hoosac Valley girls' lacrosse team notched its first win with the help of four goals from Sydnee Gallup on May 14. ... Lucy Barrett's eight goals helped the Mount Greylock girls' lacrosse team hand Lee its first regular season loss in two years as a varsity program. ... Alexis Bushika had four hits for the Hoosac Valley softball team in an extra-innings win that clinched a tournament berth for the Hurricanes.
Look back: Kodey Bryce saved the day for the Blue Devils with a two-RBI double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning against Hoosac Valley. Schuyler Robinson had two hits in a loss to Pittsfield earlier in the week.
Look ahead: The Blue Devils have two games remaining and need to win one to qualify for Western Mass. Monument comes to town on May 20 and then the Blue Devils play in the Berkshire Classic on May 22.
Look back: It was a decent week for the Hurricanes. First they downed Lenox 4-3 on the heals of a three-hitter from pitcher Austin Milesi. Then, Hoosac topped defending Western Mass. champ Mount Everett. Matt Koperniak had two hits and an RBI. The Hurricanes finished the week by dropping a heartbreaker to Drury.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes have four more games left and need at least two wins to make the tournament. They visit Taconic on May 20, play in the Berkshire Classic on May 22 and visit Mohawk on May 24 to end the year.
Look back: Sean Davis had two triples this week and T.J. Therrien record five RBI. The Hornets topped PVCS 9-2 and Sabis 7-4. The week ended with a 16-3 beating by Granby.
Look ahead: The Hornets have two games this week and must win both to make the postseason. The first is at Pathfinder. They then finish the schedule at home against Mount Everett, who they opened the season by beating 5-0.
Look back: The Mounties clinched the South Division title with a 13-0 pounding of Wahconah on May 17. Ben Alley and Eddie Dufur each had three hits in the win.
Look ahead: The Mounties start the week against St. Mary's on Saturday and then play in the Berkshire Classic on May 22. Their opponent is unknown at this time. Greylock will then take on Rutland on May 25 in the season finale. Seeds are due out May 28 and the tournament is slated to begin May 30.
Look back: The Blue Devils got a huge 14-0 win over Taconic on May 14. Amber Iacussa and Katie Hancock each had two hits and Cat Record recorded a shutout. The momentum wouldn't carry over, however. The Blue Devils were knocked out of postseason contention with a 10-4 loss at the hands of Pittsfield on May 16. Hancock had three RBI in the loss.
Look ahead: Drury will now play out the remaining two games for school pride. It challenges Wahconah on May 20 and then finishes the year with a third meeting against Mount Greylock on May 23.
Look back: Alexis Bushika broke out of a slump and grabbed four hits, including a single that drove in the game-winning run in the eighth inning against St. Joseph's on May 16. Kassy Kazimierczak smashed a long drive down the left-field line and turned it into a home run to start the seventh inning and tie the game for Hoosac. The Hurricanes also grabbed a big win over Monument, 21-5. Erin Girard had three hits, including a triple, in the win. Hoosac is 3-0 since the full-time return of senior shortstop Tori Rumbolt.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes are in the postseason and will look to better their seed with three more games. Mount Everett comes to town on May 21. They also travel to Wahconah and wrap the season up with Lee at home.
Look back: McCann had its best week of the season, securing two victories. The first came over Smith Academy on May 14, 7-3. The second win came over Ware, 14-1 on May 16. In the Ware win, Kaylee McNeice had a solo homer and Jordan Prevey reached base four times. Against Smith, McNiece had a triple. Haley Malloy got the win in both games.
Look ahead: The Hornets round out the season on May 20 with a game against Southwick.
Look back: Heather Tomkowicz had nine strikeouts in a May 13 win over McCann Tech. The Mounties were downed by Wahconah 3-0 on May 14. The Mounties also played Turners Falls on Friday, but the results were not available as of press time.
Look ahead: The Mounties will challenge Pittsfield and Drury in the season's final week.
Hoosac boys' lacrosse
Look back: The Hurricanes clinched a postseason berth with a win over Taconic on May 16. Stephin Wallace and Cody LaBrie each had two goals in the win.
Look ahead: Hoosac will attempt to improve its postseason seed with games against Chicopee and Greylock this week. Postseason seeds are due out on May 28.
Greylock boys' lacrosse
Look back: Greylock grabbed a huge win over East Longmeadow on May 11, 16-2. Ethan Ryan scored four times and Brett McCormack had two goals and six assists. The Mounties got back to Berkshire County action with a 24-3 win over Taconic. Michael and Brett McCormack each had six goals in the win.
Look ahead: The Mounties put an end to the regular season with a game against Hoosac Valley on May 22. Postseason seedings are due out May 28.
Hoosac girls' lacrosse
Look back: Sydnee Gallup scored four times and Maeve Denning scored with 2:44 to play and Hoosac earned its first girls' lacrosse win on May 14, 6-5 over Wahconah. Kelsey Hosley made 17 saves in the victory. The Hurricanes then dropped a pair of games to end the week.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes put an end to the season with a game against Pittsfield on May 20.
Greylock girls' lacrosse
Look back: The Mounties scored a huge win over Lee on May 14. It was the first loss of the year for Lee. Lucy Barrett scored eight times in the victory. Greylock finished up the week with a 15-7 win over Hoosac. Sarah Stripp had five goals and Barrett and Orpin each added three.
Look ahead: Greylock challenges Pittsfield in the final game of the season on May 20.
Greylock boys' tennis
Look back: The Mounties' perfect season remained intact with two wins this week. Both victories came over Lee. The first, a 5-0 sweep on May 15. The second was a a 4-1 win on May 16.
Look ahead: Greylock starts the week by heading to the second weekend of the Western Massachusetts individual tournament. Rohan Shastri is the No. 1 seed and is still alive in the tournament.

Look back: The Mounties grabbed a 4-1 win over Belchertown on Monday. Margot Besnard, Tara Shastri and Melina Sfakianaki swept the singles matches. Greylock suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of Lee on May 14.
Look ahead: Margot Besnard remains alive in the individual tournament as do teammates Abby Tague and Tyra Nurmi as a doubles pair. The event gets underway again at Smith College in Northampton on Saturday morning.
Drury boys' track and field
Look ahead: The Blue Devils put an end to their season against Monument on May 10. Connor Meehan is the only Blue Devil to qualify for the Central/Western Mass. meet. He finish fourth in the mile.
Hoosac boys' track and field
Look back: Tyler Mach took fourth place in the 100 at the Western Mass. Division II meet. Travis Ciempa was fourth in the two mile. Trevor Ciempa took second with a 5-10 high jump. Steve Coons was fifth in the discus.
Look ahead: The Hurricanes will head to the Central/Western Massachusetts Division II track meet on May 25. The 4x100 relay team advances, as does Tyler Mach in the 100 meter dash, Travis Ciempa in the mile, Steve Coons and David Bailot in both the shot and discus, and Dante Sandifer in the long jump.
Greylock boys' track and field
Look back: Carter Stripp finished second in the 800 at the Western Mass. Division II meet. The 4x400 relay team finished second.
Look ahead: The 4x400 relay team, Carter Stripp in the mile and Will Kirby in the mile, as well as Tommy Kirby in the two mile advance to the Central/Western Mass. meet on May 25.
Drury girls' track and field
Look back: Several Blue Devils turned in career performances at the Western Mass. Division II meet. Ali Tatro took third in the javelin, her best toss of the year.
Look ahead: Cori Ghidotti in the 400 hurdles and 800, Celene Koperek in the 800, Alyssa Marceau in the 100 hurdles, Shannon Garvey in the shot put, the 4x400 relay team and Ali Tatro in the javelin all qualified for Central/Western Mass.
Hoosac girls' track and field
Look back: Meg Rodowicz took first place in the 800-meter race at the Western Mass. Division II meet. The team wrapped up its season with one win on the year.
Look ahead: Rodowicz and Kayla Garabedian will both attend next week's Central/Western Mass. meet. Rodowicz will be in the 800 and Garabedian will run the hurdles.
Greylock girls' track and field
Look back: Alex Majetich won the 100-meter dash, the 200 and set a personal record in the triple jump. Emily Kaegi took second in the mile and Kat Chenail was third in the two mile.
Look ahead: Jenna Phelps, Alex Majetich, Emily Kaegi, Micahela Dean, Sophia Dastoli, Kat Chenail and the 3200 relay team all qualified for May 25's Central/Western meet.
