NORTH ADAMS -- Vinny Zarrillo singled and Jose Cuas came across to score the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning, to give the North Adams SteepleCats a 4-3 win over Danbury on Thursday night.
Cuas singled to start the 12th inning for the SteepleCats. He then stole second base before Brad Anderson was intentionally walked with two outs. Cuas stole third and Anderson took second to put two runners in scoring position for Zarillo. He came through with a single to the outfield to pick up the victory.
The game-winning hit was third of the night for Zarillo.
Joeanthony Rivera picked up the victory for North Adams. He went two innings and allowed just two hits.
Mark Reece got the start for North Adams and went five innings and allowed all three Danbury runs. He gave up seven runs and struck out three. Kyle Driscoll came in for a long relief apparent and kept the game tied for five innings. He struck out out five and allowed just two hits.
Roberto Suppa took the loss for Danbury.
It was the fourth-straight win for the SteepleCats and pushes them to an even .500 on the season, after dropping four games in a row last week.
Cuas' 12th-inning steal was his second of the night and brings his season total to four. He had two hits in the victory for North Adams. He was also caught stealing earlier in the night and reached base a total of three times.
Cody Doyle had the only extra-base hit for North Adams on the night. He doubled for his only hit of the game, he also scored later in the inning.
North Adams is back in action tonight at Ocean State. The team returns to Joe Wolfe field on Sunday to challenge Sratoga. The game is a 4:30 p.m. start.
