Monday, April 14 Two things happened on June 10 of last year, when Southwick's Kyle Yelin hit a game-winning single to beat Hoosac Valley 3-2 in the semifinals of the Western Massachusetts tournament. Monday, April 14 Jeremy Pierce has one simple request for anyone who's interested in watching high school track and field this spring. "May 6, be there." Monday, April 14 NORTH ADAMS -- As if playing its home games on the road in 2006 wasn't enough for an explanation, Drury tennis head coach Whitney Suters feels that the sport is underappreciated in North Adams. However, he hopes to change that, even if it's one player at a time. The Blue Devil boys and girls went 1-15 last season, but it's not about the wins and losses for Suters.   Full Story
 
Monday, April 14 NORTH ADAMS -- It's been a long time coming for the Drury track and field teams. With over 90 athletes participating for both the boys' and girls' teams this season, 30 of whom are seniors, both coaches have a great deal to look forward to. The Mounties only lost three players to graduation and have a slew of young players that already have a year of seasoning under their belt.   Full Story
 
Monday, April 14 WILLIAMSTOWN -- Last year's Mount Greylock softball team flew under the radar all the way to the quarterfinals of the Western Massachusetts tournament. It was the team's first trip to the tourney since 2003 and it put Williamstown back on the softball map. The days of Greylock being a side note on teams' schedules are over, and the Mounties no longer a secret.   Full Story
 
Monday, April 14 WILLIAMSTOWN -- Last spring, the Mount Greylock boys' tennis team ended its season knowing most of its players would be back and figuring better days were ahead. Monday, April 14 CHESHIRE -- With numbers at a low and only 14 upperclassmen, the Hoosac Valley boys track and field team faces a rebuilding year in 2008. Hoosac coach Ron Namislo is hoping to have a competitive season, however, and hopefully carry over some momentum from their 7-1 season in 2007 in which they shared the county title with Mount Greylock and Wahconah.   Full Story
 
Monday, April 14 To the west of Berkshire County is New York's Capital District, where new high school lacrosse programs seem to come online each year and where the University at Albany men's team has gone to the NCAA Division 1 tournament four of the last five years.
