PITTSFIELD — The Morningside Initiative Steering Committee and the Morningside Community School PTO, in conjunction with the Pittsfield police and fire departments, are hosting the fifth annual "Morningside Pride Night" from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, at Morningside Community School.

The event is designed to bring out the residents and people who work in the area to take pride in the neighborhood and to aid in the revitalization of the Morningside Initiative area.

The event includes activities and fingerprinting for kids. Information tables will give residents of the neighborhood the opportunity to learn about local resources and to benefit from the various services they provide.

The Berkshire Health Systems Community Outreach Van will be offering health insurance enrollment and blood pressure screenings.

The free event includes a march around the Morningside School block to show that this neighborhood and its residents will not tolerate crime.
